JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a bitmap image format that employs lossy data compression (pronounced jay 'peg).

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a bitmap image format that employs lossless data compression.

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is an XML markup language for describing two-dimensional vector graphics, both static and animated, and either declarative or scripted. It is an open standard created by the World Wide Web Consortium.
